Eldin Isovic / Presenter

Many of you will have listened to Drive time on weekdays from 4.30pm until 6pm.  Very little is known about my (Tanvir Akram station manager) two co hosts Eldin Isovic.

Eldin was born in Bosnia.  During the Balkan conflict, he was involved in an accident with a grenade which left him blind and without and hands or arms.  He was 13 at the time and as a result of his injuries moved to the UK.  He is now 33 years old and lives in Derby.

What are the best and worst things about the Radio?

Eldin: It is an excellent opportunity for people to talk about what they love and enjoy and entertain people at the same time.  It is even easier for me as a blind person to do radio, especially know as I join the show via skype.  The bad things are the equipment and the lack of support from some of the community.

What is your favourite show and presenter?

Eldin:  Drive time of course and Tanvir is my favourite presenter.

What is your favourite food?

Eldin: Pizza and cheese.  Love cheese, the smellier the better.

What are your ambitions in life?

Eldin: I don’t really have any. Working for commercial radio maybe.

What makes you angry?

Eldin: Ignorant people and those who judge too much

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Eldin: Funny, lazy and calm

What is the best advice you have given and received?

Eldin: I don’t really give advice, unless it is to help Tanvir with technical stuff.  Good advice I have received is to be strong and be positive, which I always do as there is no reason to sit there feeling sorry for yourself.

If you could choose anyone in the recent times, who would you pick as a mentor?

Eldin: Tesla the famous scientist.  That would be fun.

If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be?

Eldin: All the football world cups would be nice

Eldin joins Tanvir on Drivetime weekdays from 4.30 until 6pm via Skype.
